I'm going to let y'all pick the brand new style of this project before it even begins. This change comes because I got Aseprite, a much more professional spriting program with built-in animation tools.
So, some choices:
Really shaded, no outlines. The characters would be in 32x32 spritesheets at smallest and 32x64 for the taller ones, which is an absurd resolution considering the detail. It took me all day to do this animation, but hope it gives you an idea.
Small, shaded and outlines like Celeste. Celeste is a pretty cool game in artistic style with high atmospheric ambience and filters, really smooth and bouncy animations, and since the mind does half the job it doesn't care for smallest details but does for shading and color. Characters don't even have eyes most of the time. Honestly I would love to pull out this style. (screenshot from Celeste)
Vanilla Undertale-Deltarune style (new codename: TF-style), the original one. Forget all of the pillow shading and the overly details on Sans' face, it would just look like a Toby Fox game. Kinda like Don't Forget, except nothing could ever compete with those suckers.
Maybe leave some other suggestions down where ya know. I hope you don't accidentally make my life a living hell.
