Gigaform is finally finished, and during the final stages of its development I made significant changes to the game, and so here is what’s different: The game was initially going to be an Impossible Game clone in which you avoid spikes while navigating tricky platform levels. Instead, you simply try to avoid a single spike by jumping over it, and with each successful jump, the spike moves faster and faster and faster.
Admittedly, this game was rushed because I had been putting it off for well over a year and finally wanted to just finish the game, and so as a result there are bound to be a few glitches here and there, and I am already aware of a few of them, listed here:
The game stutters quite a bit sometimes. Restarting temporarily solves the problem.
Both the spike and the particles disappear once they travel behind the player.
Sometimes the prompt to enter a high score does not display.
(If you find anymore, let me know ASAP!)
I am trying my best to address all three of those known issues and can probably release an update within a day or two, from which you may see the following additions/changes:
Upcoming changes/improvements:
Fixes for the stutter and screen tear
Improved graphics and particle effects.
Cleanup
Possible additions: (note the “possible,” meaning, “not guaranteed.”)
Menu/interface system
Multiple game-modes with levels tailored specifically for them
Customize all the game’s sprites to give it your own look.
Custom backgrounds and soundtrack.
That is what the future holds, but for now, give it a chance, rate that shiet, and let me know what you think in the comments. B]
