The Face was made as a mistake yet none of his variants look uglier compared to Impure Mouse's earlier design choices or rest of the characters in Five Nights at Treasure Island. (Except Fleshpound, as he is based on a existing character with same name, from Five Nights at Treasure Island 2: The Magic Kingdom.)
