Lately, users have been appearing on the site just to cause trouble. These users are known as trolls, and this community doesn't handle them very well. A lot of users flock the troll's comment sections to call them names and tell them to do inappropriate things to themselves in hopes of getting the troll to leave.

Here's the problem, though.

Trolls love attention. They love it when you give them attention, however negative it may be. They love the fact that you get upset when they post. They love seeing you spread the word to your followers. In fact, it's the whole reason they join. Every time you even mention the user, you give them another reason to stay. In addition to that, you're risking a timeout or even a ban, because now you've done the very thing the troll set out to do.

So, what's the solution to this dilemma?

Simply report and block. Yes, it's that simple. By reporting and blocking, you're not only alerting the proper staff, but you're draining the attention the troll receives. If enough people do this, the troll will not get what they want and will leave the site because of it. Don't send them death threats. Don't get on your profile to tell your followers. Don't even give them a second thought. Why? Because they don't deserve that attention from you. Move on with your life, and stay blameless in the process.
