Got to start somewhere! - The Mountain Devlog #1

The Mountain is a final year college project that spans 8 months (4 Design / 4 Prototype). We just finished our "Design Phase" in developing the game and are ready to start showcasing our goals for the prototype!

------------------------------------------------------------------

We the main outline goals for the game consist of 5 core goals. We wanted to create a game that,

- Create a challenging but rewarding survival systems.

- Provided procedurally generated content and levels.

- Uses a well refined and fast paced combat system.

- Develop a very dark atmospheric game in the first person.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

We found that many games in the survival genres hit one or two of these marks but never all of them. We mainly drew inspiration from key games like The Long Dark, Barony and Don't Starve.

Back in my art school days I used to ride the 710 COPSA line from Parque Del Plata to Montevideo almost everyday. This is the Marcopolo Viaggio G4 Mercedes Benz model from the late 80s, one of the older bus models that was running on the line.

Demonstration of the spells and their effects :)!

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa María Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!
