Hello everyone!
I would like to start this weekly update with a sorry. Last week I totally forgot to make a news update, and when I found out I realised it was too late already… However I am back this time, with some good news!
First of all, I got some help from my friend Florian van Strien with creating a textbox creator. And with help, I mean he basicly coded everything :P
The textbox creator itself is just a handy tool for myself to be more efficient/creative with the dialogs. The creator makes everything really simple to edit, and then exports the text to Wttmr.
There’s still some stuff to add in it, but it’s already close to finished :)
The past 2 weeks I also spent a lot of time making the game run better (more stable 60 fps :P), and I added some touches to make everything look smoother.
I also started with all the animations/code for the Sewer Monster. A picture of which you can find all the way down in this page. A minor Spoiler Alert though for everyone who doesn’t want to see any monsters yet :P
I finally made a new addition to the gameplay. In the original Welcome to the Mansion you would die instantly if you touched the Killer/ghost. However in this game, most of the time you will get a small chance to escape. Simply by struggling! Did a monster grab you!? FEAR NOT! By repeatedly pressing the action button you can escape! However while you are trying to escape, your heartrate will raise. Thus escaping will become more difficult, the more you do it!
Let’s see… What else did I do? I think I covered the most important parts… Some stuff will remain a secret for you guys ofcourse ;) So I can’t just go around tellin’ every little detail :P
There’s one more thing I wanna ask of you. I’m thinking of creating a small demo containing the intro,a part of the Mansion, and the Sewers area. Would you guys wanna play that? Even if it’s just a small fraction of what the final game will be.
Anyway that’s all for today! I will be back next week.(My last week without school 0.0)
I hope I will see you then!
BYEEEE! And thanks for reading!
