So it turned to be me again who is blogging here haha. Thanks for coming here to read, and i am Laz (and later this Grand Steam log is edited by hipon). I tweeted about making sneakpeek video of Grand Steam but ended up to another failure because of some serious mess, so uh… next time, okay? =_=;;

Let’s continue on where we left off last time, about gameplay flow was it?
(See list of Grand Steam’s logs here !)

Main Gameplay Flow (part 2)
<div>### 1. Battle Phase
<div> Basically, this game is arena hack and slash, the heroine will be facing tons of enemies here, summoned by a Rival ( the names will be revealed soon :p ). </div><div> Each tier/stage will have several waves you have to beat and your rival won’t stop keeping you busy until you’ve reached the last wave. In short, this will be an endurance test between you, the heroine and the Rival!</div><div>
</div><div> We are working really hard to make each wave variative, balanced, and fun to play, we took some references from Beyond Oasis and Legend of Zelda, we hope we could make it as good as those games! :))
<table align=”center” cellpadding=”0” cellspacing=”0” class=”tr-caption-container” style=”margin-left:auto;margin-right:auto;text-align:center;”><tbody><tr><td style=”text-align:center;”>
</td></tr><tr><td class=”tr-caption” style=”text-align:center;”>Beyond Oasis screenshot</td></tr></tbody></table>
</div>### 2. Win/Lose Condition
<div> The rules are still the same as most of games, you lose if you die, you win if you stay alive until the end of stage. In Grand Steam, once you enter the stage, you can’t go back. Really?? Then is it a fight till i die?! Well, the easiest way is just die lol, but you’ll receive penalty as a punishment.</div><div>
</div><div> Is there any way to go back without penalty? Yeah, of course there is, by killing**the Rival during the Wave Battle phase. Here, you can kill the Rival anytime you want! When he dies, there will be a door, uh…or you can call it.. Portal, coming out of nowhere, then you’ll able to go back safely without penalty! It’s your choice to kill this guy sooner or later, if you want higher reward, you should endure until the last wave and kill him at Boss Battle phase! :D</div></div><div>
</div><div>### 3. Roulette (?)**
This one is still an idea, it might not be in this game at all, it’s an idea about how the Boss allows you to “skill shot” a roulette to choose Boss’s AI patterns, at the beginning of Boss Battle.
4. Closing. So what’s the game about?
The game will keep continuing until you beat all challenges available, and those are the REAL stages! That wraps up the full gameplay flow/cycle of Grand Steam.
</div>### About reijubv
<div class=”separator” style=”clear:both;text-align:center;”></div> News about stellar-0, reijubv is no longer with us, and no longer working on Grand Steam project, it’s so sudden i sometimes can’t accept that he’s gone. Lol j/k, no he is still safe and sound around the internet.
So, why?
I worked with him since 2010 for Eternal Grace project, then some we did some collabs for stellar’s commission work, Trinity Sofia project (pending), Paladine (pending), then lastly Grand Steam (on development). Working with him was very smooth for us, then we recruited him in. Not long ago he said he don’t want to be a professional game developer anymore, he wants another job for his main occupation, and some reasons we had discussed days ago, so okay, good luck and wish all the best for you, reijubv!
Changes to Grand Steam project in future:
main character/enemy designs
all character sprites, icons
illustrations, HUD
This will be A LOT of work for me, i don’t expect this will be easy, but this surely would be fun. >:) Not a good ending huh? Oh well we’ll see you again in the next blog, or gamedev log! Thanks for spending your time reading this and have a nice day!!
<span style=”font-size:x-small;”>Pstt…expect hipon’s introduction blog will be here soon! :P</span> ~<span style=”color:#FFA500;”>Laz</span> out!
