Great news

Hello!

I’m bringing you some fantastic news.

No, I did not manage to restore the corrupted project, but I managed to restore the entire map of Fredbear and Friends: Reboot via datamining.

Basically, I had a dev copy of the game which I made just before the project had been corrupted, and it was the only copy that has ever existed in the universe. I was able to rip out the entire map mesh using a program, and with a few tweaks I managed to bring back the maps’s original form.

I was suprised by this as there is no way to normally export a Unity scene into a model, but the program was apparently such a powerful ripping tool it managed to convert the scene into a model format. Not only that, but it also exported every single texture associated with that map.

This could be useful for the future as I could potentially port the map into Source Filmmaker or Garry’s Mod if anyone would be interested.

tl;dr I datamined the entire map out of an early FF:R build and I can continue progress on the game.

Thanks for reading, and I hope to bring you more news soon.

I have added rewards for quests so that villagers can give you something in return for your hard work helping them. 🥳

I want to know - what's your favourite quest reward?

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)

I mostly build 3D First Person Shooter game mechanics in Unity, and in this I'm just showing C4 mechanics I made for a little side project I am working on! :)

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa María Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!
