Godot Physics Tick [DISCUSSION] ... ≥60fps? 240hz Physics?!
Trying to get back into video making. This is a technical discussion about what I'm currently feeling regarding Godot's Physics Tick rate, and FPS.
My Godot Mega Man test project now has animation!
I edited and added animations for this test. I always wanted to juice up the Wily Wars sprites.
I made a system to have automatic Sprite Offset data imported and applied, from Free Texture Packer exports.
I made a [Mega Man X4] ✖ [Mega Man Xtreme] style dash VFX for fun. Only 3 colors.
This is what the old stray Old Boy looks like today. I think he looks healthier now.
Feeling very unfocused today and my arms really hurt (related to the nerve damage) so I'm resting a bit with my buddies; Kirby and Bud
Sharp Interpolation for the game screen in Godot with my Retro Camera system.
I think it needs some tweaks but I was surprised I was able to do this entirely with a shader (I'm terrible at shaders / math), and not having to scale the Game Render texture.
Got the basics of my own platforming character controller done in Godot.
Still a lot of features and other things to add / fix. But so far so good!
This is based on my Unreal Engine version from Mega Man Rulers of Space. (Wily Wars sprites just for fun.)
Orangey, my OG rest buddy. (He visits me many times a day.)
