At first I was just gonna draw my regular avatar, but then I thought "hey, why not pull back and create something that represents me from scratch"
So I did!
My current avatar is multiple iterations upon a Minecraft skin I made, no joke, seven years ago; based on what I thought a "cool mc youtuber" looked like, and loosely based on myself, with the eye, hair, and skin color being the same. You can find that (cringe)

That being said there's some aspects of the design I've definitely grown very attached to, such as the hoodie and headphones. Despite the fact that I never wear hoodies, or even long-sleeve outfits in-general. The only exception would be a coat or a jacket (which all of mine DO have hoods).
And then I always wear headphones when on the computer so that one checks out.
I then iterated on this design multiple times over the years, playing with over-simplifying it, and then making a more complex version. But in-general, I always maintained the same core design.
So- it was a lot of fun to pull back and cut the cord on the old design so to speak, not force myself to stick within the constraints of it.
The "old design" isn't going anywhere of course. If you guys really like this avatar version, and I really fall in-love with it, it's entirely possible this could become my new avatar. But I also love my current one, and am very used to it, as I'm sure are you.
That being said, this avatar isn't so dissimilar nobody could tell it was me, right? But it's definitely more difficult to draw. I can see the hair + headphones combination being particularly difficult.
Making a character that's very easy for anyone to draw is just good marketable design. Not saying that's my priority when it comes to stuff, but for stuff like this, it's not a bad benchmark.
Ok, enough yapping. I'm gonna stay up slightly later than I should playing Minecraft now ^.^
