Today marks the day the orignal ONAG turns 10 years old. So as a celebration, the game page is up! I think for a project as random as this, it's best to tell you why this even happened.
Why?
Over at twitter, probably around april 22nd, a tweet about ONAG3D caught the mass's attention because of its name. It was ridiculous for us to see at first, but I decided to dig deeper and found out that Scott Meaty had made more games about Gubby (well, only 1 that's accessible as of now..) and had some interesting things going for it in my eyes. So, bored & past me drew some redesigns for this silly series and that's when it all happened.
I posted the redesigns onto twitter, and my boredom led me to also make a 3d model out of it. Then out of nowhere? Boom. Somehow, this little interest of mine turned into an actual community (thank you guys!) that was hard to ignore, and being the guy that I am could not just leave this potential go to waste.
What?
A reimagination of a 10 year old fangame where its creator is probably working at an office by now can go many ways, but my plan is to take what I learnt from developing Angry Luigi (still bring worked on!!) and form a much more fun & hectic gameplay loop. Right now the game is gameplay ready, but there's still alot of assets to make and testing to do, so it might take a bit for it to get its first release.
This game is basically just a practice for me, to get more used to creating full games and stuff. That's why the game's not going to be anything crazy, nor is it going to have some world bending story or anything like that. What you see is what you get. That doesn't mean there wouldn't be some unexpected twists in the full release though, but don't keep your expectations too high!
Thank you
Thank you everyone for giving so much love and attention to this silly little thing, it's something I'd never thought would've happen. As celebration, here's 3 of my favorite fanarts from the ONAG community discord server!
