Happy New Year to those who celebrate it, and to everyone else, I hope you're having a good day.

I just wanted to address that first and foremost before moving on to the elephant in the room when it comes down to writing this post, which is my long absence from this site.

It's certainly been a while since I've shown activity here on GameJolt, let alone presented updates to any of my games.

As you can see below I certainly have a lot of things to say on this topic, so if you don't want to read all the nitty gritty details, I will leave a shorter synopsis toward the bottom of this post adjoined by my closing remarks.

The truth is that in these past few months I haven't worked much or more recently at all completing my development tasks as much as one might think.

Life has been busy no doubt and I've recently found myself involved with many more things that I hadn't since before the pandemic.

Yet to be honest I had been seeking a solid break from the game development scene after nearly 2 prior years of fairly constant game work, and I just decided that I would take that break over the last few months, though remaining occasionally active on Discord and my server.

Simply put I've begun getting more and more unsure whether I would make a full return to game development as I've returned to normal routine, and still am as I write this.

On one hand I think I could have a future if I continue to work with game development. I certainly have ideas I could use to kickstart things again, but as with anything it would be a big commitment of time -which is something that has grown sparse in abundance as I've chosen to become involved in other things outside of the internet.

I won't elaborate much on these other interests, but I'm trying to try and explore some other things while I'm still young and finding ways to balance my time.

If I should decide to return, which despite the tone of the contrary tone of this message is something I truly would like to do, it might be a smaller idea (a fangame most likely) that as I mentioned would be used to kickstart development on a more simple scale.

The reason I've been putting off addressing this (and subsequently leaving you all in the dark), is because I've been waiting until now, here, in 2022 to do it, as this is the year I would plan to return to game development if I so do it.

I believe that a break was necessary and I am happy I took it in relieving myself, but I greatly apologize being hasty to leave and leaving you all in the dark.

So, I'm not dead, but I've been getting progressively burned out with game development and decided to take a break towards the end of 2021 which is why I've been absent. This break was sudden and uninformed which I do apologize for, and decided to wait until now to address things as my future plans involve 2022 as the ideal time to return if I do. Still uncertain about it, if I do return I will release a smaller fangame to kickstart development and compensate for lacking content, before moving on to new and unfinished projects.

Well, that's certainly a lot of words, but I just simply had a lot to say, and whether you read all of it, if you got the message I appreciate you're understanding and support as a fan.

On a closing note I once again hope you all had a wonderful New Year should you celebrate it, and a if not just simply a wonderful 2021, as I know I did.

I hope you're all excited for 2022 and the potential that it brings in being even better than last year. I can't fully promise my complete return to development but I intend to keep you fully informed on whatever comes next either way.
