On August 8th, 2014, the internet was taken by storm by an incredible horror game, created by one man, named Scott Cawthon. He had made many other games in the past, however, all were financial failures. He was often thinking about quitting game development all together. At one point, he was even considering suicide, because of all the criticism revolving around his games. Especially after getting lots of criticism on his latest game, titled, “Chipper and Sons Lumber Co.”. Chipper and Sons characters were described as creepy robots, or just generally scary; having unnatural esque movement to them. After telling his doctor that he was considering suicide, his life insurance was cancelled. So, not only did his games have no value, his life had no value. But then one night, something snapped in him, and he thought to himself, “I bet I can make something a lot scarier than that!” Thus, the “Five Nights at Freddy’s” series was created, and was a huge success! Thank you, Scott Cawthon, for creating such an amazing game that has inspired many to start creating games.
