(It’s been a while since I posted one of these, apologies.)

Top, Rain:

Haiden and Lucas are patrolling Montreal during October of the year 2000, paranoia still fresh from six years prior and nervously awaiting the Magic Hour. They suddenly hear a babies cry in the rain, confused they follow it and discover an abandoned baby, left out in the rain. Concerned Haiden quickly takes the baby in and Lucas already starts falling in love with the little one they picked up.

Middle, Adoption:

No one comes forward to claim the child so Haiden and Lucas make the choice to adopt the baby, a boy. Lucas is the main parent while Haiden takes the role of grandfather, as Lucas became a sort of son to him in the years they were bound together.

The baby boy is named Harlan Ashton Walker, in hopes he can have a much better life than his namesake as well as in remembrance of what happened all those years ago.

Ashley approves, even if the wound of Harlan’s death is still a little raw, maybe she can start healing by making sure this one has a better life than he did.

Bottom, Aunt:

Ashley quickly becomes an Aunt to little Harlan A (referred to as such to differ him from Harlan Magwood) and sometimes brings Reagan over to see her new cousin (as Lucas is like the elder brother she never had). Reagan quickly becomes attached to her new cousin…

and the second one that follows six years later…

So yeah, in the interim between Together Again and The Magic Hour, Haiden/Lucas don’t stay idle. In fact they adopt two children of their own in that time, don’t ask me how it happened in universe let’s just say the two were owed some favours which enabled them to pull some strings to let them adopt their children.

Lucas is the main father figure and parent while Haiden acts like the grandfather, Ashley’s the kids aunt and so it makes Reagan the kids cousin.

The other kids come along six years later as a foster child turned adoption, her name is Castiel.

Before you ask, yes, this Au does have Haiden x Lake, Haiden’s never really gotten over Lake’s supposed (yes, supposed) demise with the Funland burning. I’ll do a piece explaining that relationship and how it factors into the Au. Lucas did approve of the two’s relationship but difficult choices had to be made to try free the children and animatronics from the Demon’s torment. He and Haiden both knew that some hard choices had to be made but wish that things could’ve been different. Lake understands they didn’t have a choice but he just wants to make them squirm for not telling him that Lucas was there.

They both grieve for Lake and the others on the anniversary of the Funland burning and hope that they all can forgive them for what they had to do. Lake does forgive them but that doesn’t mean he’ll play nicely, Haiden looks so cute when he’s scared. Lucas on the other hand… well… Haiden’s claimed him as a son, so why shouldn’t he?

The two have no idea Lake is still “alive”, even though Harlan Magwood has moved on…
