Heartless Log - October 2025 (# 1)

Hello! This is the beginning of some form of consistent devlog post. At the minimum, I'll try to do this kind of post at least monthly.

For a while, I relegated official non-showcase posts to be rare occasions, since I mostly just thought to let the eventual release speak for itself, instead of my boring words. However, I feel like the game's got enough attention now, to the point it is warranted to have some means of a scheduled output, especially since we're in enough of a position of luxury to do so.

Well, I spoiled it - main topic about this particular post is just going to be that things are going very well. The demo didn't release too long ago, and we already have a pretty impressive amount of post-demo content, and a LOT of stuff that's ready to go but still needs implementing. Currently, that's my main focus. The entire introductory segment leading up to the "hub" area of Phase III is practically completely done, barring finishing touches, so we've been working on the paths that branch from the hub area. Great amount of progress there, too, especially in the artwork and music department.

Speaking of music... fun fact, there are currently over *one hundred tracks* for this game! And that number still remains steadily climbing. This wasn't necessarily a consequence of scope creep or anything, it's just that we not only have a pretty solid amount of composers, we have ridiculously passionate ones, too. I occasionally sweat when one asks for another track to make, and I have to find another corner of the game to put something in... Trust me when I say there are some *insane* bangers in there. We'll show more, when the time is ripe, but I don't want to spoil too much how it'll feel to hear it in-game, raw, for the first time.

I'm very grateful that I've gotten to work with the development team that I have. There's no shortage of insane effort that they've put into this game. It really is no longer *just me* that's pouring my soul into this. It never was, but now more than ever, it is especially the case. Shoutouts to them, but also, shoutouts to everyone in the discord server! Do you have any idea how surreal it feels to see people discussing your work, without your immediate presence? It's ridiculously fun. I'm not going to insert myself into every conversation, because that'll ruin the point of the theorization and discussion, but just know I absolutely have been loving reading everything! All those words mean so much to me.

Things are going great, the devs are great, you're all great. Thanks for reading. Next time, I'll probably discuss specifics on how game development has felt in general, and my thought process on certain game mechanics you have seen in the demo.

Just as Pecaminosa's musicians #improvise this rendition of #LittleSunflower 🌻, so do we improvise with this post you're reading. 😂

What's coming out of your own improvs? 🤔

Let me introduce you to the new Mech line: Gendai Spec. Those are Mech that specializes in surprise attacks, covered operations, and stealth. They are equipped with melee weapons but one of Gendai's frames supports sniper rifles.

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa María Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!

The Authority decided to investigate the Basement and leads to recovering classified documents Fun fact: The building has 928 doors and not 1000 doors. #horror
