We’ve just arrived to Game Jolt, and while our game is still in development, we feel that we already have a lot to share about it.
And we’ll have much more in the following months.
Those Who Remain is our upcoming title, a psychological thriller that takes place in a fictional American town.
There are a lot of things going on in this town, triggered by a tragic accident that happened some time before.
When Edward, the main character, arrives in town, he finds himself in the eye of the storm.
The town is shrouded in darkness, and no one seems to be around. No one except the weird menacing figures that roam in the dark.
As things weren’t bad enough, Edward soon finds that there are strange doors that connect our world to another - a mirror version of our own reality, where everything look the same, yet very different.
Edward needs to survive by staying in the light, and by traveling between worlds - the only way to escape this nightmare.
So this is the basic premise of the game.
Those Who Remain is played in first person, there’s a lot of exploration to do, puzzle solving and decisions to be made.
The two main mechanics are the light versus dark (player can’t go into the dark or he’ll die) and the mirror worlds (player travels between worlds, actions in one place have an impact in the other), but he’ll also have to make some tough decisions that will affect the ending of the game, and his own destiny.
