Why do I need an Art Designer / 3D-Artist?
Sometimes it's hard to tell what should be changed in order to make a game look better. So I need someone who will constantly review the game and tell what should be changed and how to make this change. Usually it will be enough for you to search 3D Assets on the internet, but sometimes you'll have to do it on your own.
What will you do?
- Constantly review the look of the game;
- Tell what can be added/changed/removed in order to improve the look;
- Point out even minor problems, so if we have enough time and willing, we can improve as much as we can;
- Look for appropriate assets on Unreal Engine Marketplace, Quixel Bridge and on the Internet;
- Tell where and how to use them (you might need to do light sketches sometimes);
- Create your own 3D Assets or improve existing ones;
- Create textures for your assets or improve existing textures.
I need you to:
- Know Blender (or any other programs like 3DS Max or Maya);
- Know Substance Painter (or any other convenient and powerful enough texturing tool);
- Be very attentive;
- Know how to work with real-life references;
- Be able to work with High-Poly 3D assets;
- Be able to create high-quality textures;
- Understand PBR;
- Be able to communicate your thoughts clearly;
- Have the willing to work with me on a game;
- Be ready to work on a game throught it's development;
- Use English, Polish or Russian as communication language;
- Be nice;
- Have a PC that is not a potato.
I would like you to (these ones are not important but would be a nice bonus):
- Know Photoshop or any other image-editing program;
- Know Substance Designer;
- Be familiar with Unreal Engine graphics and asset import/export pipeline.
What you need to do if you want to apply and help:
- Send me your portfolio (2-3 of your best works);
- Tell me a bit about yourself;
- Tell me why do you want to help me and work on a game;
- Tell me about your previous experience if you have it;
- Tell me your PC specs.
You can contact me on Discord (RUIR#3435)
Don't be too scared about the requirements. You can apply even if you don't fit some of them. For example, if you make cool 3D models but don't know how to texture them in Substance Painter, I might still consider you. I only need a person that will be able to improve the game and will be helpful. Generally, if you are only either a Designer or a 3D Artist or a Texture I might also consider you.
We are all indi-devs here, so don't expect me to pay you anything. You only apply if you want to help me. Don't get me wrong, I just don't really have any money myself :)
