Howdy, thanks for clicking into this post!
We are the DONTFORGET team, and we're looking for new artists and composers to help us finish making this darn thing!
If you're not already familiar with us, then DONTFORGET (or DF for short) is an ambitious Undertale/Deltarune fan-game which began development in 2016, and has been receiving updates ever since!
DF is primarily known for its MMORPG-style online multiplayer mode, where players from around the world can connect online to play and explore in the Underground together! However, DF is also planned to have a singleplayer Story Mode in the future, which is more akin to the Undertale/Deltarune experience that you'd expect!
Currently, we are hard at work on the next major update for DF's online multiplayer. This update is shaping up to be the biggest one yet, and we believe now is the right time to look for new peeps to join us and be a part of it!
If you're interested in joining our team, we'd love to hear from you! The application form is available at the bottom of this post, but first, here are the open positions that we are currently looking to fill:
Environmental Sprite Artists
We are looking for sprite artists to help us create tilesets for the new areas that we are planning to add to the game. Here is an example of a tileset currently used in the game:
As you can see, a tileset is a single sheet of all of the "tiles" that are used to create the rooms for an area.
Each "tile" is 20x20 pixels, and certain tiles must be able to be "repeated" without any noticeable seams, such as walls and floors. For example, here is a small room made using the above tileset:
As an Environmental Sprite Artist, your activities would include:
Producing tilesets for new areas, based on provided concepts.
Expanding existing tilesets with new tiles if needed.
Creating sprites for props/objects that wouldn't otherwise be part of a tileset, such as furniture in rooms.
In certain cases, you may be asked to create a full background for a room rather than a tileset. For example, the rooms in Toriel's house are actually full background images, and don't use tilesets:
If you would like to, you are also more than welcome to get involved in the design process of new areas! Don't hesitate to share your ideas!
If you're able to help us make tilesets and/or backgrounds that fit within the game's style, we would LOVE to hear from you!
If you have any questions you want to ask us about this position, feel free to do so in the comments below! We're more than happy to provide any details you need.
Character Sprite Artists
We are looking for sprite artists to help us create overworld character sprites for new vessels and NPCs to be added into the game!
In DF's online multiplayer mode, there are over 50 playable characters (known as "vessels"). A complete vessel requires four directional sprites (sprites for the character walking up, down, left, and right) and an optional "pose" sprite. Here is Harlow's sprite sheet as an example:
As you can see, the directional sprites have four frames each, to create a complete walk cycle for the character moving in that direction. As for poses, these can vary for each character. Some characters have a fully-animated pose, such as Harlow doing a little dance here, while others just have a static one-frame pose.
As for NPCs, their requirements are similar. Most NPCs will need directional sprites just like vessels do (with the exception of minor NPCs, who might only need one down-facing sprite). Important NPCs may also need a few poses as well, to give them a bit more life during cutscenes!
So to sum it up, as a Character Sprite Artist, your activities would include:
Producing the directional sprites and pose sprite for new playable vessels in the overworld, based on a provided concept for the vessel.
Producing the directional sprites for NPCs in the overworld, based on a provided concept for the NPC.
Producing animated pose sprites for certain NPCs, to be used during in-game cutscenes.
If you would like to, you are also more than welcome to get involved in the design process of new characters! Don't hesitate to share your ideas!
If you're able to help us make character sprites that fit within the game's style, we would LOVE to hear from you!
If you have any questions you want to ask us about this position, feel free to do so in the comments below! We're more than happy to provide any details you need.
Battle/Portrait Sprite Artists
We are looking for sprite artists to help us create the black-and-white character sprites that are used in battles and dialogue portraits!
Here are some examples of enemy sprites used in the game:
Which will be used during battles like this:
And here are some examples of dialogue portraits:
Which will be used in dialogue boxes like this:
As a Battle/Portrait Sprite Artist, your activities would include:
Producing full-body sprites of monsters, based on a provided concept. These sprites will be used when fighting that monster in the battle system.
Producing dialogue portraits for characters, based on a provided concept. These sprites will be used when that character is speaking in a textbox.
If you would like to, you are also more than welcome to get involved in the design process of new monsters and characters! Don't hesitate to share your ideas!
If you're able to help us make battle and portrait sprites that fit within the game's style, we would LOVE to hear from you!

Digital Artists
We are looking for digital artists to help us create promotional artwork for the game! This will include:
Update/Milestone Artwork
This is artwork that will be posted here on GameJolt, to coincide with the release of major updates, or other special occasions. Here are some examples:
As you can see, we don't use one particular style for the promotional art, so don't feel like you need to have a certain style to apply - all styles are welcome!
Header and Thumbnail Artwork
We are looking for someone who can create a new header and thumbnail image for the GameJolt page. Currently, these are what our header and thumbnail images look like:
While these pieces are absolutely gorgeous, they were made for an older version of the game from years back, and we have since made significant changes to the story. As such, they are no longer an accurate representation of the game. We feel that now is the right time to replace them with new artwork that reflects the current direction of the project.
If you have any questions you want to ask us about this position, feel free to do so in the comments below! We're more than happy to provide any details you need.
Overworld Music Composers
We are looking for composers to help us create new tracks for overworld areas!
As an Overworld Music Composer, you'll be asked to make new area themes to be used in the overworld. These will sometimes be covers of existing Undertale tracks, and other times you'll be asked to compose brand-new tracks for unique areas, where you can really let your creativity shine!
When a new track is needed, you'll be provided with a description of what the track could be like, as well as context to where it'll be played in-game.
Here are some examples of area themes used in the game:
If you're able to help us make these new area tracks, we would LOVE to hear from you!
If you have any questions you want to ask us about this position, feel free to do so in the comments below! We're more than happy to provide any details you need.
Battle Theme Composers
We are looking for composers to help us create new battle themes for upcoming boss fights and PvP battles!
We are planning on introducing brand-new bosses in future updates, and we're looking for someone who would be able to create new tracks for them! You'll be provided with a description of what the track could be like, as well as context to where it'll be played in-game, but from there you'll be free to let your creativity soar!
Here are some examples of boss themes used in the game:
We are also looking to add new PvP themes to the game! In DF's online multiplayer mode, players can battle against each other in exciting PvP battles, and each playable character has their own PvP theme that will play during the battle.
Here are some examples of PvP themes used in the game:
If you're able to help us make these new battle themes, we would LOVE to hear from you!
