Besides ship and weapon selection, XYDONIA will let you choose an assist character that will simply give you a small bonus, depending on your strategy.
Want to survive more to better train on a stage? Maybe a wider stock of lives will come in handy. Going for a kick-ass high score? No assist will give you a multiplier bonus!
You’ll be able to pick from a good array of characters, several of whom will be unlocked by making progress in the game.
