Here's a sleep deprived explanation of the basics of some trigonometry.

Sine is a basically described as the hypotenuse of a triangle (specifically right triangles)

Divided by the opposite leg, being the numerator being that the angle isn't 90. Giving us


Large decimal value which translates directly to the leg used, in which an equation is made to figure out one of the sides, if we consider that x is a leg, and also the opposite side of the angle between the hypotenuse and the second leg, we can use sine to figure out x via basic division or multiplication.

If I have sine at an angle of 25, the leg is x, and the hypotenuse is 49, the equation would be

Sin(25°=x/49

To solve this, we separate x from 49 via this:

x= 49•sin(25°.

Our result is

x ≈ 20.708 if we rounded to the nearest 1000th.
