Broken is able to absorb souls by using a “Soul Vortex”, and can be either a human or monster soul, he has full control over magic and emotions, but the time however is limited so in order to maintain a small essence of anyone’s magic, he cuts a small sliver of magic from them, and becomes a piece of his own code.

When a soul is absorbed, he also takes the form of the monster or human, such as clothing, scars, and weapons, though the weapon may appear different sometimes.

Time itself is limited as mentioned, usually it lasts for 10 minutes to 2 hours, but if it’s a cluster of souls (fusions), it can last up to days, which also brings up one last fact about him.

When time runs out, the soul fades from color and cracks, so before times up, he removes the soul so the soul and person(s) do not die.
