I always thought the one crying in there was meant to be Vinnie/the puppeteer, since it could’ve been likely that he didn’t like his job/felt like he was stuck with the rat and cat theater gig, and felt like a failure of an actor for not having become more successful by now despite his efforts and literally having an acting degree (plus during the night with Monster Vinnie[who in Mary’s mind would represent the puppeteer], you can hear audible cries in the ambience throughout the night)
However, I was looking into what the general consensus seemed to be for that night and it actually looks like people believe Rat to be the one who’s crying in the staff room. I can believe that ngl, but I still found it kinda surprising and interesting (if true)(hell, even some wikis state this tho so idk).
What do y’all think of this? Is this legit or do you guys have different ideas on what the crying was?
Im pretty sure this detail was one of those things Emil left to be up for interpretation, so there’s likely no firm correct answer for this, but I still like to think about shit like this and see what y’all think too :3
