Why did you decide to cancel it?
I had absolutely no motivation left to continue this project or this team, and it was just dead after a point. Following the departure of our most active coder, the dev server was incredibly inactive. Even before they left, our team was already very inactive, but once they were gone, the team and game was left at a standstill.
There was just no reason to continue, and the ideas I had for the game just didn't feel as interesting or appealing enough for me to want to continue the game at all. There's just no passion for me to want to keep going with this project.
What's going to happen to Backstabbed?
It'll be passed onto a new owner once I'm able to find one. We've had our full story already planned and I'll be able to explain it to them once I've offered ownership.
What about the team?
The team isn't continuing. There's no reason to, we're all pretty demotivated to work on it really.
What'll happen to all the game's assets?
They'll all be documented in a folder for your viewing.
What now?
I'm going to be continuing to direct Underswap: Taciturnity, it's a project I'm much more excited to work on that I have much more interesting ideas for.
Besides that, I'll just try and find more projects to work on where I can, although it's not likely I'll find more, in which case I may retire my writing altogether or take a large hiatus.
It's been a pleasure directing this game and team. For now, please follow Taciturnity. Thanks.

To everyone who helped work on this team, thank you. It's been an absolute pleasure to work with all of you.
This is Sophie, signing off.
