I don't want to over-expect the fans, so let me be clear: there is currently no progress at all on the main phase (AKA the Sans battle).
However, I have some firm direction and plans for the future and will post a small devlog as soon as the papyrus encounter is completed.

V2.2.1 update (important!) You can now visually check the repair progress (peak)
Also pressing F2 on the GameOver screen now allows you to skip the GameOver and quickly return to battle (peak)
