What was Lazy Nights?
LAZY NIGHTS was a point-and-click FNaF fangame by developer "GetLazy" based on the Icelandic children's TV show "LazyTown". Its popularity amongst the fangame community skyrocketed due to its high-quality visuals and horrifying atmosphere:

Despite the game being highly anticipated, its GameJolt page inexplicably vanished on December 9, 2025, along with the official YT channel for the game.
The "ultimatum"
Before its deletion, the creator hadn't responded or given a reason as to why the game had been cancelled. He instead had posted a cryptic image with an encoded message:

The title translated to "My Confession" and the image itself contained a riddle-like story, encoded in Base-64, about a fox exploring an ancient forest. "Maybe this is part of an ARG", many thought, "Maybe it's marketing towards the game's release", "Perhaps it's tied to the lore and the deeper story behind it". That has not yet been confirmed or disproven.

The "Demo"
The page got re-uploaded soon after (Dec 11), featuring a timer counting down to a presumed release of a Lazy Nights Demo. However, when the countdown finished at 11:00 AM PST, its contents were changed completely. A fake build of the game was uploaded, taking the form of a German visual novel which stirred up controversy due to its... explicit nature.

The credited developer was not GetLazy, as many had expected, but instead a company called "BerndSoft". The novel bore the name "Bernd und das Rätsel um Unteralterbach" and upon downloading it, players were greeted with an adult loli featuring characters from the TV series LazyTown - at least one of which, Stephanie, was underaged. Terrified by what they had discovered, players seeked an explanation...
The connections
Was GetLazy simply the victim of hackers? No. As it turns out, GetLazy had a lot of connections to the devs of the visual novel. Shortly before his termination, he updated his name to "LazySoft". His 2024 Profile Picture and banner were eerily similar to BerndSoft's:

Furthermore, LAZY NIGHTS actually started development all the way back in 2010 as a fangame inspired by LazyTown and wasn't related to FNaF. So, it could be that "Bernd und das Rätsel um Unteralterbach" was an old LAZY NIGHTS build, tucked away from the public for years.
All of this points to them being the same person. If this is the case, that would imply that GetLazy is a twisted, disturbed individual with truly disgusting desires and intentions. This "fangame" likely was not intended to be publicly released but instead was developed as a form of "personal pleasure" for its creator.
Who most likely was GetLazy? - Conclusion
GetLazy was - from the start - an unstable individual:
As Kane Carter stated: "The developer (of LAZY NIGHTS) is genuinely insane and needs professional help. He is around 40 years old and has described himself as a troubled army veteran, possibly with schizophrenia or some other untreated mental illness."
During LAZY NIGHTS' development, GetLazy made a series of delirius and innapropiate posts and ramblings on his GJ platform:
Since 2022 he has repeatedly stated that "the government would hunt and kill him for revealing dangerous secrets about the production of LazyTown in his game". In 2024, he exposed his audience - which mainly consisted of children - to a 'graphic' interaction he had. While elaborating on the game's story, he shared disturbing details about Stephanie's actress being abducted, murdered and raped by the main antagonist. An early version of the game even involved mentions of David Stoghill (the 52-year-old stalker of Juliana Rose Mauriello - Stephanie's actress in the show). GetLazy visibly showcased an unhealthy obsession with her character.
In reality, red flags were apparent all those years ago...
GetLazy is a dangerous, disturbed person who left a stigma on this community for all the wrong reasons. He was in a particularly influential position - one which he exploited as a means to communicate his dark desires towards his audience of minors. It is unacceptable that "people" like him are able to interact with children on a platform such as Game Jolt. Just like in his case, such behaviour must never be tolerated.
