Last week. We made a post explaining that HSaF was no longer in development and going on an indefinite hiatus for us to have time to work on a project that we had more passion and motivation for: That being Treasure Island Distortion. Which will still be in development along side HSaF, but the real question is... Why come back to HSaF so soon!? For us, the whole team. But mainly me @Perrypossum . HSaF has taken up most of our lives for the past half of a year, and when you put that much time into a project. It often leaves you burnt out and losing motivation, despite it being so close to being done, or not close at all. With HSaF in this case, its about.. 85-ish % done. And with us taking a break so late into development, we just felt like cancelling it all together. But last night, we had a revelation that- We can't just stop. Its so close to being done AND RELEASED, there'd be no point is laying 6 months of hard, dedicated work out in the gutter, or even just keeping it in a garage until we're ready to clean it off. Instead, we have to get it out and done fast! So that's what we'll do. We'll have our main programmer finish up whats left to be done for HSaF, then begin testing and release the game once no major bugs have been found. I really, really had plans for more to be included, but with this game taking so long. And with our passion being somewhere else, we can't linger on this project forever. Yes HSaF will be releasing sooner, but it will have to suffer some content due to this. We will be keeping hard mode and the 3 endings. But things like the "Build your own animatronic", custom night and gamejolt api will unfortunately be lost to history. But don't worry. We do have more stuff planned in the HSaF universe that we won't let go to waste. You'll just have to wait and see.
All that needs to be finished is:
The night specific events
The night 6 theme
The credits
And the extras
We'll make sure that HSaF releases while feeling like a true and complete experience. Expect its release date to be some time during February as again, theres no a lot of stuff left that needs to be done for the project.
Thank you to any and all who have stuck with this project through its thick and thin. And the response to both the demo and public beta build released by @honk_thz_col_dudee which helped us gather information and criticism in the games flaws to help iron and flesh out for the full release. But with that being said, you guys are amazing and the fnaf community is filled with talented devs, including the ones here at reall productions. And we're just glad to of contributed something to the community we all so desperately love. See you guys for the release date trailer for HSaF.
