I'm old fashion, I prefer equipment that just has better stats and maybe a minor buff/drawback.

Hot take: but I'm not the biggest fan of games with most equipment that come with upsides but pretty weighty downsides, have upsides that kinda break the game despite being found mid game or change how a character plays.
