Hey Dino-Folks!
I hope you are having an awesome day! We are doing great so far, 27% funded which is pretty awesome and a huge thank you to everyone for the support!
Today we thought we'd show you some behind-the-scenes of what Theropods looks like during development.
It all starts with jotting down ideas in a notebook and trying to plan everything out.
Kostas does the rough digital sketches where we try to figure out all the action and environments in a storyboard, which is basically making a comic book with written explanations of the animations and backgrounds that we need to create.
Let's take the example of the bottom right frame from above to move on to the next step.
To oversimplify things, what we do above is:
I Draw the clean lines over the rough characters
Animate them in black and white
Colour them (one frame so that we know the colours)
Send them off to Sarah to turn into amazing pixels (clearly the easiest part of the process for Kostas)!
Here is a before and after. Can you guess which is which?
Confused yet? Excellent, that was only the artwork part!
Thanks for sticking around folks, see you in the next update!
