I was wondering why my track was.. 43691 bars long... It turns out that there was a marker at the very end. No clue why it was there but that caused it to want to render the maximum bars.
the oneshot devs had to write a c++ binding to achieve this, meanwhile VX Ace can do this using just Win32API.
