Also, this is a comment I left on the video, which talks a bit about my opinion on PM, for your reading pleasure, if your interested.
"I like what I've played so far of Origami King. It's more than a step in the right direction, however, there are a lot of things that need work, and Thousand Year Door is a freaking masterpiece! So, it's a fold above SS and CS, but still has it's issues. That being said, there's a lot of things, especially with the characters and story (yes, it's actually not half bad) that I really liked, and it did do something unique as far as design with the origami aspects. The gameplay isn't perfect, but it's actually enjoyable, unlike SS. (for me at least) I did experience someone on GJ referring to "the thousand year door fans" as all whiny, and after talking with them a little bit, I think they understood that many people can be civil about it, and that they are just the vocal minority. When it comes to so many things, it seems like if people would just set aside their pride for a moment and ACTUALLY TALK we'd all understand each other a lot better. Over all, great video, and looking forward to your review, whatever your opinion. Personally, I like OK more than I dislike it, but my favorite part of TTYD was the story and characters, and unlike the past couple games, it seems like OK actually HAS a story and characters, even if it's not to the same level as TTYD. Some of the locations and characters have actually been really good, though I've only completed the first 3-4 chapters (somewhere in there). Anyways, that's enough ranting; but whether you hate it or love it, everyone has their own games they like and dislike, and that's ok. Though, I will admit, I would like to see Nintendo embrace a more TTYD like Paper Mario in the future, as I think OK could've really benefited from allowing themselves to make something more like the original, as some parts of the game made me feel simaller to how I remember feeling in TTYD. Unique and interesting characters and locations, a good deal of depth, and the excitement to see what comes next. This is something that was completely absent for me in SS. I never finished it, and I only got it from the library, but what I played of it just wasn't fun for me on a gameplay or story front. For me, I'd say OK is good on story, and decent on gameplay. SS is bad on story, and meh on gameplay. TTYD is AMAZING on story, and really good on gameplay (I have this thing where I care more about story than I do gameplay; I'm weird) That's my opinion on Paper Mario more or less. I'll shut up now. XD Anyways, really good video, Arlo! :D"
