Currencies

Estaria is a large world with many different nations and regions, many of which are separated both by culture and geography. As such, there is no single unified currency accepted throughout the world. In fact, there are 8 major currencies, each good in a specific area of Estaria. As power balances shift and battles are fought across the land, the relative values of each of these currencies will shift and alter.

The 8 major currencies of Estaria are as follows:

1 – Cryptrane – The first currency acquired in the game, native to the Mortal Desert. Not much use in Ardenkong, Raeyodell, Glassacre or Northern Hewesaven, but accepted in Qie Zaratka and certain parts of Nestermark and Tamoryn. Based on data and electrical energy mined from ancient technology.

2 – Dhayn – The official currency of central Hewesaven. Originated in Valanthayn and used across Tamoryn as well before the Elitist proliferation began. Still used in parts of Tamoryn where Korbal Gems are not used. A note-based currency that has roots in the trade of agricultural products.

3 – Korbal Gems – The official currency of the Elitist Church, used throughout Central and Northern Raeyodell, the Glassacre Islands, and certain areas of Tamoryn. At the onset of the game, the most valuable currency in Estaria, and the one against which the value of all other currencies are measured. Only not accepted in Dharmana, Qie Zaratka and the Mortal Desert. A valuable, ruby-like gem containing powerful magical properties.

4 – Muiren – The official currency of the Qie Zaratkan Empire. Not much good elsewhere, except for the Mortal Desert. A rare, gold-like ore native to the Qie Zaratkan desert.

5 – Omnimite – Currency of Dharmana. Historically also used in the Glassacre Islands, before Elitist colonization. Still used in some parts of the Glassacre islands, but not much good elsewhere in Estaria due to Dharmana’s isolationism. Omnimite is a rare, obsidian-like ore found in northern Hewesaven which, like Korbal Gems, contains some powerful magical properties. So while it has little financial value in areas outside Dharmana, it may prove to have some other, more practical uses...

6 – Draajab – Currency of Arden. Also accepted in certain parts of Hewesaven and in Nukong. Note-based currency with roots in agricultural trade and scientific research.

7 – Shen – Currency of Nukong. Also accepted in parts of Hewesaven and in Arden. Note-based currency with roots in agricultural trade and scientific research.

8 – Ravaaht – Technically not a “currency” in the traditional sense, Ravaaht roughly translates to “respect” or “pride” in the language of Blusaaje. In Blusaaje, no physical currency is accepted, and value in their society is based on deeds and reputation; the extent to which an individual is able to contribute to the well-being of their society.

Summoning

A new feature makes it's way to our custom Action Spellcasting System: Summoning! This allows spells to summon entities. These can be enemies or allies, allowing us to have unique interactions with other elements of spells. Perhaps a brutally powerful explosion that also summons a handful of weaker enemies? Or a Shivan spell used to create some dopplegangers of the player, allowing you to blend in and attack from the reflections?

The possibilities are enticing, and we can't wait to explore them! This feature will be shown in action in a video in the next section of the Dev Log!

Npc Vs Npc Combat

The intelligent AI used in enemies shown in previous dev logs has now been tought to fight each other. This can result in some pretty darn satisfying duels to watch! Check it out here:

Please be sure to let us know what you think!

Instances

A few more tests will be needed to make sure everything works as intended, but as far as can be told at the moment, Instances are in and working! This means all the major features required for New Eden are now in-engine! We're a step closer to nearing Full Production, which means New Eden will have far more to show in the future from here on out!

New Years Tourney Playtest

Another playtest is in order! This will once again be a tournament, with even more prizes this time around! More info will be coming quite soon! Stay tuned and prepare yourselves!
