Hunt For The Lost Gem - Final Goodbye


It's been a fairly long time since I've been logged onto GameJolt (yes its me AnotherDog aha) and I am hear to bring the news that I will no longer work on Hunt For The Lost Gem. This is mainly due to 3 reasons.

1 - School. School and homework has been one main reason why I've stopped working on this project. I started school again all the way back in August of 2021, and was mostly inactive from GameJolt during that time. A lot of tests are also coming up.

2 - Lack Of Skill. I attempted making this game right as I got RPG Maker VX Ace. I had no prior experience with coding or even digital design. Even if I did try, this game wouldn't have been that successful.

3 - General Loss Of Interest. I was really invested into making a game when I was a little kid. When I got my game-making engine, I said to myself 'This game will be successful!' and...it wasn't.

BONUS REASON - Bugs. Short reason, but for some reason my game wouldn't push out right when updates came along. This would mean I'd have to make a new game page JUST for the update alone. That'd get repetitive after a while.

EXPECT THIS FOR THE GAME PAGE

  • Comments Disabled

  • Packages Removed

  • Title [SHUT DOWN] Added To Name

  • Game Page Taken Down On February 2nd

  • All Other Posts Deleted

That's about all I have to say for the shut down of this game. I may pick it up again later in life once I have more experience on coding/digital design.

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)

Hi everyone! I started to create some environment props for my new video game, here is a cozy house in the forest. I'm planning to switch from Unity to Unreal... Let's see what new challenges I have to face. Made in Blender and Substance Painter.
