The song starts with the line "I don't want anyone, know me or not, see me at my lowest. You don't have to drop, drop, drop. Don't have to drop by, nothing you can do this time". It makes me think of how many times I have hidden my emotions (either positive or negative) from some of my friends and even my parents. I also put my friends before me (and I will keep doing so) and help them no matter what my current emotion is. I have also pretended to be happy when I am literally enraged or very sad/worried (this is IRL).
The song's chorus says "At the risk of feeling dumb, check in. It's not worth the risk of losing a friend, even if they say 'Just keep your plans, I hope that you never have to drop' ". This line tells us that it's always good to check up on your friends no matter what. They can be going through a lot and they don't want you to drop their plans for them, but a "Hey. How are you?" message can mean a lot to some people. I also have checked up on my friends "at the risk of feeling dumb", asking them various times how are they.
There are people that feel lonely and suicidal, and they should not be left aside. We need to help them out. A caring hand can be life saving to some people. As the song says, "It's not worth the risk of losing a friend".
With this, I conclude this article. If you ever feel lonely, suicidal and hopeless or need someone to talk to, don't hesitate to send me a friend request or a shout. I will help immediately. You are not alone and you matter.
I am proud of you.
Take care and stay safe.
