tom and jerry - tom and jerry is a north american cartoon. the cartoon follows the antics of a cat named Tom (in the pilot 1939 "puss gets the boot" he was named Jasper)and jerry ([unamed] in pilot). The plot of tom and jerry is simple tom tries to catch jerry though the irony is tom causes more destruction than jerry would if left alone. the shorts have won 7 [academy awards]. The shorts have been censored recently due to the use of "[black faces]" the shots have been edited out poorly. despite this tom and jerry is still a great cartoon that kids and adults would watch.
