So recently, I was having a conversation with a friend about gamejolt and the art on the site. Suggestive art is becoming a major issue on gamejolt. Suggestive art by itself isn’t a bad thing, but gamejolt has an extremely young demographic made of mainly teens and children.
—
I know people try to combat this issue by putting things such as “suggestive (16+)”, but this does nothing to combat the issue as kids can just ignore the warning. Additionally, people often just put the age the are as the number in a suggestive warning, meaning I’ve seen some gooner art that is rated 14+. This is extremely problematic, and poorly dealt with issue that leads to children viewing suggestive art.
—
I still think people can draw whatever they want, express whatever they want to, but it comes to a point where the motive to draw the art is to gain publicity for drawing nsfw art and taking advantage of children.
—
While I don’t think that is the true intent of many of the artists that create these drawing, I do think that people are unconsciously contributing to this issue.
—
It’s also getting to the point where oc’s are being created just to appeal to the sexual gaze that people have, which hurts people.
—
My solution to this issue is simple, put the art elsewhere, where there are less children on the site, like new grounds or deviant art.

Points
Gamejolt has a problem with suggestive art
Gamejolt has a very large minor population
Suggestive warnings and labels such as (16+) are not effective
People posting these types of art, aware or not, are taking advantage of children/teens
People post suggestive art to gain audience approval
People should move these most suggestive art to other sites where the population is more mature
