I finished Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid today so here’s my review for it.

It was a pretty nice slice of life kind of show. I thought the characters were cute and glad it wasn’t crazy action-packed except for the dragon stuff. The first season was just introducing everyone and how they act. The second season had a new, ‘evil’ dragon introduced but quickly became just another friend and I think the show had a pretty satisfying ending. Also, the shorts were kind of funny and showing what they get up to in their lives. Anyways, the show for the first season provided a nice message about how no matter how diverse you are and the difference in cultures you have with others, that doesn’t mean that you can’t find a way to fit in. For the second season it showed that even though you can be conditioned to have a certain, negative and incorrect belief about a group of people throughout your life you can still change your thoughts and learn to love those people.

Some bonus thoughts:

  • Even though some may think it was weird for Saikawa to like Kanna with them being so young it was pretty cute and wholesome. Same goes for Lucoa and Shouta, with Lucoa just seeming like a motherly figure and caring deeply for him, despite the anime trope they are based on.

  • I was glad that only around two episodes didn’t have a Dub and the shorts so I had more to hear in English.

  • When they first introduced Lucoa it was we hearing her voice talk so calmly and soft since the voice actor also voices Panty from Panty and Stocking, who is loud and vulgar.
