To begin with, if being a furry would be considered cosplay, then dressing up as a human character from a video game, anime or cartoon would be considered a furry, which seems a bit stupid to me to say that being a furry is cosplay, since if someone dresses up as A character that has nothing to do with the fandom would be considered a furry, even if that is not the case.
