**Okay, so here's my theory:**

I've been thinking for a bit, and I think I know Gregory's origin.

The answer has been right in front of us the whole time, the moment we started the game. It just seemed too normal for us to even consider. Right over our heads, how could we be so bind, ignorant, STUPID?!

As you may know, Freddy's dialogue goes like this:

*Showtime already? I am experiencing a malfunction. The recharge cycle is not complete.*

*Who said that?*

*Down where? I still do not see you.*

*Stomach hatch? That place is for* **over-sized birthday cakes** *and piñatas! It is not a safe play area!*

You most likely noticed that I highlighted "over-sized birthday cakes". And, yes, you are correct.

You also may be asking "BUT JEMMY?! WHAT HAS CAKE GOT TO DO WITH THE ENTIRE LORE OF THE FRANCHISE?!?!?!?!1!1"

I'll explain, don't worry.

I'll just tell you what I came up with, then I'll explain.

__Gregory is an over-sized birthday cake.__

**Here's why:**

1. Freddy said that his stomach hatch is only for over-sized birthday cakes (and piñatas, but that's not important).

A child would die the moment they get in there. We can already see inside: there too many exposed wires and metal bits to even survive. But cake WOULD survive, because cake does not have any form of nerves.

2. Vanessa wants cake. Ever since nobody came to her 6th birthday party, she's never hosted another party after that. And because she's never hosted a party, that means she hasn't had any cake. And all the kids in the Pizzaplex eat all the cake up, so she's never had anything.

She told ALL the animatronics to get the cake, and bring it to her. Including Freddy. But Freddy is lactose intolerant, so he can't eat cake. That's why he helps Gregory the Cake to escape.

But the other animatronics LOVE cake. They love it so much that they want to rename the Pizzaplex into "Freddy Fazbear's Cake Circus". So instead of bringing Gregory the Cake to Vanessa, they eat it up themselves.

**Why Roxy wants cake:** She has always been so nice to the children, letting them get their slices of cake first. But because of that, they eat up all the cake before Roxy gets any. So she finally gets her chance of getting some cake.

**Why Chica wants cake:** She's so tired of eating trash and pizza. She's always wanted to get some cake, but her stubby little legs can't reach the top shelf in the kitchen.

**Why Monty wants cake:** He has always hated Freddy. So he just wants to brag right in Freddy's face about how he can eat cake, and Freddy can't.

**Why Sunbro and Moonman want cake:** They're always taking care of the kids, but they never actually seem to *really* make them happy. They want Gregory the Cake to give the kids something nice to have for once.

3. Freddy only fainted on stage because he saw the cake. He remembered his childhood traumas about eating cake for the first time and nearly dying. 

Then Gregory the Cake started getting chased around by Vanny because Vanny ALSO wanted cake, to give Afton the childhood he never had. So then Gregory the Cake hid inside Freddy to not get eaten.

4. The only reason Gregory didn't have a guest profile and couldn't remember his name is because he's a cake. What kind of maniac names their cake?
