Hello ladies and gentlemen! EarnedHeart9166 here ready to let you all in on the latest news regarding the project! Now I know that it has been a long radio silence for the past few months, but I have some exciting new developments to share with you all!
So first off the project has officially switched engines! We have gone from UE to Unity. The reason we have done this is because of the fact that UE5 was a relatively new thing at the time we started the project. I have struggled to find developers to stick with the project, so me and my lead developer decided to switch. Another reason is because my developer has had great experience working with the engine! With any luck, the game will look just as good as promised!
The next change is a bit dramatic. It took a while. but me and my team made the long and difficult decision to switch our platform to VR. I know, it sounds crazy, and I will explain everything here now. My lead developer has great experience in making VR games! Since currently he is one of our only working developers. Now, I have thought long and hard about the switch. It is a very lucrative market and I know not everyone had a VR headset to play the game on. However the VR perspective for a fnaf fan game is definitely a crazy one. There aren't too many fnaf fan games that are made in VR! We are now hoping to satisfy that need and present a clean fnaf VR experience presented as a "Story mode" type game! As for you all who have followed the game and do not own a VR headset, do not fret just yet! Most likely after the demo releases (AKA the first part of the game) we will possibly port the game over for flatscreen audiences!
Another big change has been the fluctuation of people here at LightShed Studios. We have had a lot of people leave because they couldn't stick with the project. Luckily we have very talented modelers, developers and more working on the project as we speak. For a while on the team server things were also radio silent! However now, things are different. With any luck, a trailer will be around the corner along with gameplay footage! STILL, we are in need of developers and modelers willing to work on the project. Once again thank you all for sticking with the project! I know these changes are dramatic and pretty shocking to hear, I'm sure. I also know that not all of you will be satisfied finishing this message, and I wanted to reasure you all. These changes are only for the now! Changes could be made later on down the road from now. In the meantime though, I will keep you all updated! As for a release date, it is still hard to tell, so for now I'll be keeping my mouth shut until I know for sure when we have a date picked out! Anyways, I hope you all have a great rest of your day/night! Thank you all!
Cheers!
