My voice is officially gone, my head hurts, I feel weak, and I can't breathe, so I drew this to take my mind off all of it for a moment. This is part of Kayla's backstory. If you care to read the story for the image, just keep scrolling to the rest of the article. I'm so tired...
Kayla wanted to know where X got her name, so she asked her, and she told Kayla the story of the little human girl she tried to save. After X had abandoned K when she saw him slowly massacre a man for almost five minutes, she found a tiny human girl crying in a corner, with the broken, bloody body of her mother lying six feet away. She was holding a small bear that had seen better days, but it seemed like it was keeping her in reality. With good reason, she was scared of X when she first saw her, but then clung to her after she figured out X meant her no harm.
X asked the girl her name and through her tears said 'Kayla'. X promised her she would get her somewhere safe, but she took her eyes off the girl for one second, and she found her with K's claws buried deep in her back. He slowly began to tear her in half, smiling horribly at the girl's shrieks of agony. X, only knowing one way to end Kayla's suffering, attacked K, and quickly injected Kayla's heart with her purple tail acid. The little girl was dead before she knew what X had done, and although she felt awful about ending up killing her when she promised to get her somewhere safe, but she actually did little Kayla a mercy, sparing her from a brutal death by K's hand.
X ended up keeping Kayla's little bear, not exactly knowing why, but she was glad she did, because she gave it to Kayla when she and Chase came back from being stolen away from her and Kenzie. Kayla, after receiving the bear, locked herself in her room and cried a little for the human X had named her after. How can you cry over someone you've never met? Kayla doesn't know, but she feels like it's the right thing to do.
