Now, you’re probably asking, “Why, Bluechili?” when you saw the title of this news article (unless you didn’t want to even see this game in the first place), and I’m going to explain why. Now, I don’t want to cancel this game because you guys are just really excited for it, and I really don’t want to disappoint you guys. If there’s one tip I can give you when developing games, it’s to put your fans first. They are the most important thing about your game, and you want to try to keep them happy. Another reason why I don’t want to cancel this game is that I’ve gotten this far. I’ve set up the base for this game (which probably took way longer than it should have) and the quest to get Toriel, might as well finish it, right?
Well, I bet you want to know why I want to cancel the game.
First of all, I just feel like I couldn’t make it without it feeling rushed. I don’t really have that many great ideas for the game that would make it feel like there was plenty of time poured into it. The second reason is that it’s just not fun to work on. Every single time I start up RPG Maker, I just lose all of my will to work on this game. Heck, the most fun part was probably creating all of the items, characters, skills, etc. And the final reason is that I just want to work on a new project. I have a plan for a game called “Weirdlands” and it just sounds like it would be 100x more fun to work on than this game. I was planning to make it after I finished this, but again, this game is not fun to work on.
Now, there’s a chance that I will not cancel this game. Heck, SFRT 4 wasn’t fun to work on at first, but I had a blast making that. But in the event that I do cancel this, I will leave development to one of you guys.
