I wanted to make it look like an angel since 173 reminded me of Weeping Angels from Doctor Who (Both are dangerous statues who only move when the person isn't looking at it). I wanted to try and make the design more original while keeping the weird looks the designers for 173 usually go for. (Also, the reason the painting on the statue looks drippy is because well, spray paint can get drippy, especially when you make some sort of graffiti or something.)

I've seen people redesign SCP-173 before, so I threw my hat in the ring.
