Hi. If you don't know me, my name is Noah. I'm the project manager and overall manager of our team at LightShed Studios, but really we aren't a company. We just wanted a cool name lol. Soooo. I wanted to adress something in a full length article for a long while. The Fnaf community.
I gotta be honest with you guys, I've been around with fnaf for many years. All the way back in 2014 and 2015 were the "golden years" for me. It was a time when I first got really into fnaf and started playing all the games. It really gave me a boost into this Indie Horror genre of game! Needless to say, nowadays Mt feelings have changed. Fnaf has a wonderful community of passionate people who care so much about the series. I am one of those people.
I remember when Scott Cawthon announced the fnaf fanverse. It was a huge thing for the community. From the moment I saw Scott's post and even some before, I've wanted to make a fnaf fan game. I wanted to make something for people just like Scott and all the other big influences of the fnaf community have in the past and are still doing that even now.
I decided to assemble a "crew" if you will. Many different people, developers, animators, artists, you name it, All from around the globe. They are truly great people and passionate about fnaf like I am! I've met many great people along the way. My dream not just for me but also for them would be to eventually join the fanverse so that all these wonderful people's hard work could get something! I wanted to build a great fan game and they do to, which is what we are doing now.
However, in recent months and even in the past has the fnaf fanverse come under fire. It's not even the fanverse itself, but the very people who make it up. So many horrible actions have come to light now more than ever. It's horrible. These Developers use their positions to exploit each other, destroy others passionate hard work and for no reason other than greed and power amoung the community as a reward.
With that, now I realize the true effect this might have. Chances of us and many other future and great fangames for getting into the fanverse is very low. Honestly, I don't know what's gonna happen. Most developers only wanted to create something out of passion and love for the fnaf series. I was one of them, and I still am today. While those other developers exploited the trust of the fanverse and community, there are some, like us and many other devs like people from fnac, popgoes, fnaf +, and many more who care.
In the end, I just wanted to thank all of you wonderful people in the community for supporting us and to thank all the wonderful and passionate devs and creators in the community. You all are awesome! So what does this mean for our game? We are still doing it. Why? Because we are all passionate about what we do and why we do it. It's a chance to create something that people can enjoy. Whether it be nostalgia or something brand new, it matters. We don't do it just because of the fanverse, or money, or a position. We do it because we grew up with fnaf, and we care about it. It inspired a whole new idea, or gave the idea a huge boost. I've seen so much created from this game series besides just the core games. I've seen the creation of a wonderful group of passionate individuals who care for these old Games! That, is a very special thing. Never take it for granted!
My best wishes to all the developers, artists, animators, and all passionate people of the fnaf community!
