I watched a ton of videos on UI in zx spectrum games and how to create a ui in game maker. I brainstormed some examples.
Now that I have access to gamemaker, next is to make a UI reminiscent of the old zx games using my examples.
Next up
I have started to familiarize myself with the coding and processes of GameMaker to determine the limitations of the software and to see want mechanics I can put into the game.
getting the character scripted for melee and ranged attacks and going start working on the enemys.
