Don’t get me wrong, gay people are cool and all, as im gay myself but a whole month dedicated to saying we exist? Im pretty sure most people know by now. It just feels like too much.

Plus pride month will only make homophobes hate us more.

I also feel like pride month puts us above straights, even though they want equal treatment. They glorify us (an example being how they make categories on streaming services for shows that have LGBTQ characters, and they plaster that all over the site, trying to get you to watch it just cause of someone’s sexuality or smth)

I get representation matters, but i think this is too much. A 12th of the year dedicated to only saying “hey, people like the same gender.” Whats pride month gonna change anyways? Reminding homophobes we exist again wont change their mind. Pride month has a lot of flaws and almost feels useless. Once again, keep in mind that this is coming from a gay person who knows people all around the LGBTQ spectrum.
