lets start off with the big man himself

the god of fear in my universe…

Phobius.

Phobius is an entity who feeds off of the fear of every person in the universe, more fear equals more power, and boy is he hungry.

Phobius lives in a lone mountain in a complete wasteland, guarded by many personified fears, basically a gauntlet of facing all your fears

he doesnt much care for “brave” people, because he knows they have a weakness, and he’ll exploit the shit out of it, i would say hes the strongest guy in my universe, being the god of fear has its perks, one of them is being able to know literally everyone’s weaknesses, and everyone has one, no one’s perfect

to get on to the guardians of fear ill only talk about 5 which i deem to be the scariest

Thanatos: his name is obviously derived from the greek god of death, but he isnt that god, hes instead the personified fear of death, his trial includes having to talk to dead family members again, and seeing them die infront of your eyes once more, or talking to horrific figures of the past; such as serial killers or cannibals

Dementus: the personified fear of being forgotten, his name is derived from the condition everyone fears; Dementia, his trial is a memory game… a memory game for your own memory.

he will ask you questions involving what day you were born, ranging up to the first word you ever spoke, if you do not get atleast 5 of these questions correct, he will smash you with a hammer shaped like a question mark, and make you forget everything you’ve ever known.

Insanatus/Phrenophobis: the personified fear of going insane, his names are derived from the words insanity and the fear of going crazy Phrenophobia, he is not a merciful fear, for he will dish out anything he can at you, his trial is to test your mental will, annoying you on certain things and constantly nagging to you about something you’ve done in the past, its just nagging and nagging and annoyance after annoyance until you go insane.

he’ll do this over the span of 50 minutes, and if you can withstand all those 50 minutes you get to pass.

Monophobus: the personified fear of loneliness, he is the most sadistic of all the fears, and there’s alot of competetion for that role, the reason for this, is that his trial is one of the most terrifying.

he will stuff you in a blank white room, with a singular impenetrable window, for over 13 days.

he will watch you from the window, smiling, yet you wont know hes there since it is a one-way window, and he will erase all memory of you ever knowing anyone for those 13 days.

he will watch you slowly grow depressed, and insane, making you tear the walls down just to escape the place…

Nyctiane: a “personification” of the fear of darkness, i put quotes because technically it is not a person, it does not have a voice, or a gender, or a form, it is just the looming darkness.

Nyctiane’s trial is a long hallway, over 2 km of hallway, with an evergrowing darkness slowly looming over behind you, voices will shout from the darkness and hands start crawling towards you to pull you in, sometimes Nyctiane will speed itself up to make you start running and then slow down almost immediately, just to wear you out.
