So recently last night I (Nocturna) discovered two YouTube videos that showcased a fan-made attempt at porting Five Nights at Treasure Island to Android.
As cool as it is... I am not comfortable with random users decompiling our work (especially our sounds as it contains our soundtrack which is being sold). With that, I asked the user to please cease working on the project. I thought this would be the last of it, but well... it seems things are being forced to go down the bad path.
Today I have wakened up to a response from this user completely ignoring me and my team's wishes, and basically giving a big "screw you" to me. I know I really shouldn't care about this, but to a certain degree, I am actually heartbroken at how ignorant and rude this community can be sometimes. Look, I think all of you are awesome, but please do not do things without our permission. Please do not decompile our games, please. Even ClickTeam has asked people to not decompile games. It's basically stealing our work and assets in the end. Come on guys, it's not rocket science. We don't bite!
We were planning on doing an Android port ourselves in due time however with this situation my motivation to greenlight the project has.. dimmed. We will still probably do it, but guys.. please have patience and don't be an ass like this guy.
Thanks.
