Jellyfish on a Train was planned as a trilogy. The first two games were made in RPG Maker, finished and released. I began working on the third game in RPG Maker, but took a break to work on other projects and explore a new game engine.
When I came back to RPG Maker to work on JoaT3, I found RPG Maker… unsatisfying. It’s a great program and all, but it’s not right for my games. There were things I wanted to do in JoaT, mostly smaller details, that I couldn’t do in RPG Maker. Although they were small details, they would have improved the atmosphere and likely improved the game.
So here’s what I’m planning: I’m not releasing Jellyfish on a Train 3. I’m not completing it in RPG Maker.
What I’m going to do is I’m going to remake the whole series. It’s going to be released as one single game with three chapters, each one unlocked after you beat the last. The games won’t be changed too much, don’t worry! They’re just gonna be better.
More information to come hopefully soon.
