Hi guys!
So I’ve been writing, rewriting, crying about, and thinking about the plot for the new Don’t Forget, and I’ll tell ya, it’s pretty hard.
Here’s the deal: it’s been established that Don’t Forget is meant to act as a sequel to the True Pacifist route in Undertale, right? And it should probably stay that way, right?
Well, the thing is, that is actually really limiting my options for the story. I mean, I have to try and create a good setup for the plot on the surface, which is a lot harder than I thought. Not only would I probably upset a lot of hardcore fans with my headcanons about what the surface might be like, but the surface is just really boring to start from.
And the more I think about it, the more I link it to why the plots of Uppertale and Don’t Forget (in my opinion), flopped. The surface. It’s really hard to imagine what the surface would be like for the monsters, atleast for me it is. Now, the surface that is portrayed in Camilla’s Glitchtale series on YouTube is probably the closest to what it would probably be like (check that out, by the way, it’s a really good series), but there isn’t really a way I could do something like that in a game though, and that’s the only surface I would ever consider to be somewhat accurate.
My point is, trying to make the story involve the surface is really difficult and it hinders the story from continuing the way I want it to. It’s too ‘slice of life’ as people would say.
So my new plan was to scrap the whole idea of this game being a sequel at all.
But of course, before I do that, I want to ask you guys what you think! I made this strawpoll for you guys to decide, here ya go:

So let me know what you guys think, and I’ll consider what to do next.
Thanks everyone! Have a nice day!
