Open wound infection:
An open wound infection is caused by an abrasion, cut or puncture wound. This could be caused by being impaled, stabbed or shot with a weapon that could puncture the skin. There is a 50% chance of being infected if affected by one of these. If affected by this you will be affected by a fever, bleeding and light headiness. This may then cause you to bleed out or become unconscious and die from the cold. To treat this you would need:
• Alcohol
• Bandages
• Ginger
• Thyme
To treat the infection you would need to clean the wound using the alcohol and then wrap the wound tightly using the bandage. You would then boil some water. Crush the herbs and add them to the boiling water. Drink the herbal remedy. You have successfully treated your infection.
Frostbite/Frostnip:
If you spend a whole night out in the cold without any source of heat you may get frostbite. You can see that you have frostbite by observing redness to the skin. This may deem the affected area unusable if untreated. To treat the disease you will need:
• Open fire
• Dry clothes
To treat it you will need to start an open fire. Then warm the clothes over the fire slightly and wrap the affected area with the clothing. Leave applied for as long as possible unless dampened. In this case remove the clothing from the affected area and replace with another warm piece of clothing.
Food poisoning:
If you eat raw meat or a type of berry that is not edible you have a 75% chance of receiving food poisoning. You can research the types of berries that are in the game using the research documents. You are unable to treat food poisoning. The only thing you can do is not get exhausted and try not to have too much straining exercise. E.g. swimming against the current, running long distances etc. You have a 50% chance of survival.
Legionellosis:
If you were to drink unboiled water you have a 25% chance of getting a water born virus such as Legionellosis. This disease attacks the digestive system and gives you harsh symptoms. These include Fever, muscle aches, and vomiting. It is untreatable and serves as quite a nuisance to anyone who picks it up. In the world it is treatable with advanced medicines, but you’re surviving. Therefore no advanced medicines. You have a 75% chance of death if you catch this disease however if you survive your physical attributes will be changed.
